The past few days have brought tension on all geopolitical fronts:

- The US launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities;

- Russia claimed that other countries are ready to supply Iran with nuclear weapons;

- Iran's parliament voted to close the Strait of Hormuz – through which nearly 20% of the world's oil supply passes;

- Iran launched attacks on US military bases in Qatar.

Each of these developments could shake the markets on their own.

But should crypto investors be panicking?

Let us answer with a question:

You know how kids, when something scary happens, first look at their parents – and if mom or dad are calm, they calm down too?

Same goes for the markets.

Let’s assume “dad” here is the market, and check how he’s reacting…

Bitcoin

$BTC dropped by about 5% from Saturday to Sunday, briefly dipping below $100,000, but then recovered and is now sitting around $105,000.

Its 7-day performance is -4.6%.

Nothing unusual.

Oil and stocks

Surprisingly stable (in fact, holding up quite well, given the situation).

The takeaway?

Things can shift rapidly, hour by hour. But for now, the market (our “dad”) remains calm and collected.
