Switching to the euro: what is changing at Altcoins.bg and how long will you be able to trade in BGN?!

At the end of the year, Bulgaria is transitioning to the euro, which brings certain changes to fiat payments on Altcoins.bg. To avoid any confusion, below you will find the exact dates and times until which you can buy and sell cryptocurrencies in Bulgarian lev (BGN), as well as what changes after January 1.

Altcoins.bg operates 24/7

The Altcoins.bg platform remains fully operational 24/7/365, including during the holidays and throughout the euro transition.

- Crypto deposits and withdrawals are automated and run without interruption

- Crypto-to-crypto exchanges are available at all times

- The changes affect only fiat payments, which depend on banks and payment institutions

Deadlines for payments in Bulgarian lev (BGN)

If you plan to buy or sell crypto in BGN, please follow these final deadlines:

- Bank transfer for business accounts (BGN)

- Acceptance of BGN payments was discontinued on 26 December

- Bank transfer for individual accounts (BGN)

- BGN transactions will be processed until 12:00 PM on 30 December

- After this time, BGN transfers will no longer be processed

- EasyPay (BGN)

- BGN payments are accepted until 10:00 PM on 31 December

- From 12:30 AM on 1 January, the system switches entirely to EUR

- Cashterminal (BGN)

- BGN payments are processed as usual until 31 December inclusive

- After 1 January, all amounts must be entered in EUR only

What changes after January 1

From 1 January:

- Fiat payments will be processed in EUR

- BGN payment options will be removed from the platform

- All new deposits via EasyPay and Cashterminal must be entered in EUR only

Deadlines for payments in euro (EUR)

- Bank transfer for individual and business accounts (EUR)

- EUR transactions will be processed until 12:00 PM on 30 December

- Transfers submitted after this time will be processed on 5 January

- EasyPay (EUR)

- Duty counters will operate during the holidays

- We recommend checking the working hours of your nearest location in advance

- Cashterminal (EUR)

- EUR payments are available at operating terminals according to their working hours

If you want to make a purchase in BGN, without conversion and without the risk of delays:

Now is the right moment.

- Waiting until the last day increases the risk of returned transfers

- Delays are possible due to holidays and system load

- Orders may be postponed for processing after 5 January
